To support our mission to provide youth with the tools they need to protect themselves online, we will be holding bi-weekly workshops! Each workshop will focus on a different topic. Join us to learn and sharpen your internet safety and security skills!
A native to Washington, DC, Kennedy grew up seeing a surge in internet use amongst her young peers without any real guidance. She was in high school when bam! Her email account was hacked for the first time. Without the proper education needed to combat these cyber hackers at an early age, Kennedy felt helpless. *Insert* CyberSafe Kids.
CyberSafe Kids was created with this lack of education for youth in mind. Considering the average child now has access to the internet 24/7, whether by computer, cell phone, or tablet, it is important that our children are given the tools they need to stay safe online.
Currently, Kennedy works in Security Delivery for Accenture Federal Services, where she specializes in Compliance Reporting, System Training, and Risk Management. She loves furthering her knowledge and is currently pursuing her Master's in Cybersecurity Risk Management from Georgetown University.
Raised in the United Kingdom, Lara moved to the United States in 2010 with her family. Completely new to the American education system, Lara worked to receive her Bachelor's in Public Relations from the University of Maryland.
With a professional background in Medical Technology and Digital Marketing, Lara is an expert in adjusting to rapidly changing environments. This has made her an asset to Accenture Federal Services where she currently works as a training specialist for international users.
Lara joined the CyberSafe Kids program in 2021 to help bridge the information gap for children who are not given proper education on internet safety. The internet plays a key role in the world today and giving children the tools they need to protect themselves will serve as a strong foundation amongst emerging technology.
